I finished TypeWell training in 2009 and have transcribed regularly since that time, first on a university campus and then as a remote transcriber for high schools, community colleges, and trade schools as well as other universities. I continue improving my knowledge and skills through both continuing education courses (Turbo I, Remote Transcribing and Math Mode Basics) and active, conscious awareness of my current transcribing practices.
Prior to this time, I graduated with a BA in Mass Communication: Print Journalism from Central Washington University. I then lived in South America briefly, where I worked for in the home office of Food for the Hungry as a writer. Once my husband and I returned stateside with an infant, I became a stay-at-home mom who eventually began homeschooling our children, which I still do today. I directed a college level international conversation club for two years and my latest endeavor is running a successful Airbnb listing in our hometown.
